Project partner: The inclusive project “Interacquiamo” is born from the Swimfit society that, in its 6th year of activity, registers a decidedly positive balance, continuing to win a no small bet: disability is not a limitation to be overcome, but a characteristic to be discovered and elaborated, “disability in fact does not mean inability but simply adaptability,” this is the main concept on which the project is based, strongly desired by a group of instructors who share a deep passion for water.
The project ‘INTERAQUIAMO'
SwimFit proposes a fun and educational motor activity, making use of the experience of Fin and UISP certified instructors.
The project was born in November 2018 from the desire to promote a path of growth aimed at increasing the physical, cognitive, psychological, social and emotional development of children with disabilities with the intention of developing autonomy and independence in the aquatic environment through a multilateral approach involving aquatic exercises. For example, the disposition of an individual to be more or less at ease in the water and with the aptitude to move freely, both on the surface and underwater, with agility and naturalness.
Project Goals
The project’s goals include fostering increased attention span, heightened recognition of emotions, verbal expression of emotions, and extended concentration time in children with disabilities.
Through carefully designed aquatic exercises and activities, the project aims to enhance cognitive development by promoting sustained focus and attention. Additionally, it seeks to create an emotionally supportive environment where participants can develop a deeper understanding of their own emotions and those of their peers.

To this day, the project 'Interacquiamo' has enrolled:
- 15 children who every Saturday morning, at the municipal pool of Ravenna, jump into the water, together with their teachers, relying totally on them in search of what water can give them both physically and emotionally.
