Inclusive project "Braçada Olímpica"
The Braçada Olímpica Project is much more than a sports initiative; it is a comprehensive social solution with profound and lasting impact. For the past three years, I, Frederico Castro—a four-time medalist in the Swimming World Cup in the 200-meter butterfly—have designed and implemented this project to transform the lives of children in vulnerable communities.
The project 'Braçada Olímpica'
Our actions extend far beyond the swimming pool. The children benefit from essential healthcare services, including consultations with ophthalmologists (many receiving glasses for the first time), pediatricians, psychologists, cardiologists, and dentists. They also participate in workshops on environmental responsibility and enjoy enriching cultural experiences such as visits to museums, cinemas, circuses, and theaters, inspiring them to dream big.
Project Goals
To ensure their full participation and sense of belonging, the project provides every child with professional-grade swim gear, including swimsuits, caps, and goggles. Beyond sports, we support their educational development by donating notebooks, pens, and backpacks to all participants.
Braçada Olímpica’s impact has been amplified by the invaluable support of sports media. Our actions are regularly featured on TV sports programs, radio shows, blogs, sports websites, and social media, helping to share our mission and inspire others to join us.
The mission
Recently approved at the federal level by Brazil’s Ministry of Sport, Braçada Olímpica is recognized as a transformative initiative with tangible social impact. Our mission is to expand these actions and reach as many children as possible, giving them opportunities not only to excel in sports but also to thrive in life.
With the support of committed partners, we aim to take this project to even greater heights, creating a brighter future for countless children and communities.
